Our Story
Our antique journey started in Raeford, NC when "Raefurbished" was originally founded in 2018. Over the next 5 years, our 100% virtural business grew significantly and included a few pop-up sales anually. Now, we want to bring our love of antiques to an in-person shopping experience in our town of Gobles.
Who are we?
Joseph & Lauren Todaro
Originally from opposite ends of the country (New Jersey and Washington), we first met in 2016 in North Carolina while Lauren was getting her Masters of Social Work at NC State and Joe was in the Army at Fort Bragg.
One of our first dates was to a basement antique shop in Downtown Raleigh called "The Cheshire Cat" where we would browse, buy and learn about items and their historical significance. From that moment on, our love for each other and the antique world continued to grow. Between D1 athletic training, competitions, overseas deployments, and many other life challenges, we managed to open up our first antique business selling online. In 2018 we got married at a local farm/ice cream shop in our small town of Raeford, NC, and immediately set off for a weekend celebration in Charleston, SC (along with picking up an antique Lundstrom Barrister Bookcase for our wedding present to ourselves).
In 2019, Joe left the army and we both decided to start our new careers and lives in beautiful Southwest, MI. We bought an old 1800s farmhouse to fix up on 20 acres, started a Nubian Dairy Goat farm and continued to grow together. We now are focused on the next big project in our lives with starting Gobles Antique Mall, in the heart of Gobles, MI. We are thankful to everyone who has been a part of this amazing journey so far, and look forward to meeting and working with everyone on this project.
